Cannabis-Infused Hot Chocolate: A Warm Twist for Chilly Days

When the cold weather sets in, there’s nothing quite like wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket with a steaming cup of hot chocolate. But why not elevate the experience and indulge in some cannabis-infused hot chocolate instead? Here’s a delightful recipe to add a warm twist to your chilly days.

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces water

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 cups whole milk or full-fat nut milk

  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips, finely chopped

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of cannabutter or ingestible cannabis oil

Directions:

  1. Bring water to a simmer over medium heat. Once simmering, whisk in three tablespoons of cocoa powder, ensuring a smooth mixture without any lumps.

  2. Add three cups of milk to the pan, bringing the mixture back to a simmer.

  3. Whisk in the finely chopped chocolate into the milk, stirring occasionally until all the chocolate is melted, and the drink achieves a smooth and creamy consistency.

  4. Once poured into mugs, add 1 teaspoon of cannabutter and stir until dissolved.

  5. Allow it to cool, and serve with marshmallows.

  6. Customise the flavour by stirring in candy cane bits, using flavoured chocolate, or adding different extracts.

Remember, the potency of your edibles hinges on the strength of your cannabis, the quantity of cannabutter used, and the number of servings the recipe yields. Edibles typically take 30 minutes to 2 hours to take effect, so adhere to the adage “start low and go slow.” Avoid jeopardising your experience by overindulging too soon.
